What this material is
The material used across the Harvest Series is a plant-based leather alternative derived predominantly from cactus and agro-based inputs. It has been independently certified under ASTM D6866 by Beta Analytic laboratory: 90% biobased carbon content. This is a material verification, not a quality endorsement. The material is suited to accessories because it holds structural form under repeated handling, resists surface collapse, and does not require the conditioning cycles associated with animal-derived materials. Its long-term durability profile is still being tested and documented across use cycles. We will update this page as that data develops.
Plushy Skinn will continue to evaluate material alternatives as the field develops. The plant-based leather alternative in the Harvest Series is our current position — not a permanent answer, but a direction we stand behind. The certification states what the material contains. The decision to use it states what we are building toward. We don’t claim perfection. We claim direction.
